Media Prima Digital launched

Media Prima has launched its consolidated digital business unit, Media Prima Digital, which comprises subsidiaries Alt Media and NSTP E-Media (E-Media), as a part of the Group's broader strategy to streamline and optimise its digital business that exists on several platforms.With this launch, the group owns and operates the nation's largest integrated digital media unit, which will take the lead to make new media one of the Group's core businesses, which include TV, print, radio, content creation and out-of-home.“By combining the operations and assets of Alt Media and E-Media, Media Prima is serious about digital as a key platform and a key pillar in determining the success of the company moving forward,” said Dato’ Zainul Arifin Mohammed Isa (pictured right), chief operating officer, Media Prima Digital.The campaign to promote Media Prima Digital will run throughout the year across all platforms highlighting its products such as TV channels.Media Prima is targeting a 30% growth in traffic and double-digit revenue growth for Media Prima Digital within the next 12 months.Lam Swee Kim, group general manager, digital and integrated marketing, told A+M advertisers will benefit from localised branded content that can be easily customised.Media Prima Digital is currently looking at leveraging on existing contents to expand its offerings in lifestyle, education and classifieds portals and also working on e-commerce where consumers can buy online content such as movies and books.In line with the launch of LTE in the local market, Media Prima Digital is also looking to work with telecommunications companies.In its Q3 2012 financial results, Media Prima’s digital and online media division registered a revenue increase of 65% from RM6.9 million in 2011 to RM11.5 million this year.Media Prima Digital currently has up to 5.9 million monthly visitors, with aims to aggregate all content within the group and provide an “over-the-top” digital experience to users.
