In the latest of several senior talent acquisitions, McCann Worldgroup Malaysia has hired Adrian Ho (pictured) as creative director. Reporting to Ng Heok Seong, the agency’s chief creative officer, Ho will be responsible for running the Celcom account.
Ho returns to McCann Worldgroup with more than 20 years of experience in the industry, having worked his way up from junior designer to creative group head at some of Malaysia’s agencies in the interim, including, Batey Ads, EuroRSCG, BBDO, Publicis and Arachnid Interactive. He has worked in many different parts of Asia Pacific on a wide range of clients, notably Maxis, Sara Lee, Mondelez Twisties, Volvo, ANZ Bank, Coca-Cola, Nokia and Unilever.
Earlier in July, the agency also appointed Jason Chia as its new digital tech lead for Malaysia responsible for driving innovative solutions across all disciplines and clients. Chia also reports directly to Ng. The same month also saw the relocation of McCann Erickson Japan’s creative planner Shun Matsuzaka to Kuala Lumpur in taking on a new role as digital creative director.
“It’s fantastic to attract a talent such as Ho. His rich and diverse experience will be an interesting addition to our agency,” said Sean Sim, CEO of McCann Worldgroup Malaysia. “Ho is very plugged into the youth market and will definitely be at the forefront of all our youth-centric campaigns.”
Ho added: “I am excited to be back with McCann and leading the Celcom creative team. It is an honour to work for such well-known organisations in Malaysia and I look forward to producing innovative and exciting work with the team.”
