McCann Worldgroup Malaysia hires Sean Sim as CEO

McCann Worldgroup Asia Pacific has appointed Sean Sim, executive creative director of Ogilvy Shanghai as chief executive officer, McCann Worldgroup Malaysia. After 10 years in China, Sim will return to Malaysia to join McCann Worldgroup on August 10 2015.Sim (pictured) will take over the reins from Michael Constantine, McCann Worldgroup Malaysia’s president and CEO, who joined the network in 2013 on a short-term contract, with a mandate to identify and on-board a Malaysian successor.Constantine will remain with the agency until late August.In his new role, Sim will be responsible for delivering growth aligned with the agency, and network’s, key objectives, further deepening the agency’s integrated digital capabilities and elevating the creative product. He will work closely with creative partner, Richard Irvine, McCann Worldgroup Malaysia’s chief creative officer.Sim has held various management leadership roles including chief operating officer, OgilvyAction China, a business unit he helped establish and build to be recognised as a leading activation operation in market. Sim was also managing partner of Bates141 China.Before moving to China, Sim was CEO, Draft Malaysia, in addition to Southeast Asia activation director, where he was responsible for the planning and execution of effective activation initiatives locally, and regionally, as well as driving strong growth for clients and the agency.Charles Cadell, president McCann Worldgroup Asia Pacific said: “Sim is a successful leader, with an impressive track record.
