McCann snags Mui for chief creative role

McCann has appointed Stephen Mui to the role of chief integrated creative officer at its Shanghai office, effective early October 2013.Mui joins McCann from DDB China, where he was based in Beijing and responsible for leading and strengthening the creative teams and the agency’s product.In the new role, he will be tasked with anticipating and implementing innovative creative solutions for the agency’s clients.“Stephen is an outstanding senior creative leader who knows the art of digital and integration. His leadership style is very hands on; he understands the importance of relationships and inspiring his team to succeed,” said Jesse Lin, CEO McCann WorldGroup Greater China.“He also understands that Brand communication must continually surprises, evolve and resonate with its target in order to impact. His passion and experience in integration will help us strengthen our creative product further.”Mui has over 20 years experience in multiple categories in Greater China including automotive, beauty, FMCG, finance and retail. He has most recently focused on driving creative innovation through integrating traditional and digital advertising as well as helping clients to prevail in the highly competitive China market.Prior to joining DDB China, Mui was integrated executive creative director at SapientNitro, ECD of JWT Guangzhou and ECD of Leo Burnett Beijing/Guangzhou respectively.
