It has also hired Faras Adanan (pictured right) as senior art director. Both of them report to Henry Yap, executive creative director of M&C Saatchi Malaysia.Azlan and Adanan were formerly engaged with ride-hailing app Grab, one of the Southeast Asia’s leading startups with 95% of market share in third-party taxi hailing as well as 72% market share for private vehicle hailing in the region.Azlan who joined Grab in 2016, was the company's creative group head for Malaysia, a role that enabled him to get "fully exposed to the exciting world of digital advertising." Azlan joined the agency with a decade of copywriting and creative experience, having honed his skills at Leo Burnett, Publicis and Lowe, on accounts that include McDonald’s, Burger King, Petronas, Proton and Unilever.Meanwhile, Adanan also joined Grab in 2016, where he led the Malaysian creative team. He began his career in design and digital advertising in Malaysia before moving to Singapore to widen his horizon. Upon returning home, he took up a five-year stint at Lowe; working on accounts that include Unilever, F&N and BSN. Adanan, who is also into music and fashion, said he would incorporate both elements in future creative works for the agency.Speaking exclusively to A+M, the agency which specialises in brand building and integrated communications said, "As an agency that prides itself on being at the forefront of creativity and innovation, M&C Saatchi Malaysia firmly believes that the addition of Adanan and Azlan will add to success of the agency."In July this year, the agency also named industry veteran, Shireen Peterson as its new general manager. Peterson reports to managing director of M&C Saatchi Malaysia Lara Hussein, and is tasked to oversee and strengthen the agency’s account management and business development units. Prior to this, she was managing partner of Ogilvy & Mather Malaysia, an agency that she was engaged with since April 2011.
