Maybank has officially launched the “Maybank One Solution”, a money-management solution that integrates seven products, from daily transactions to savings, financing and insurance, into one offering via a kiosk banking concept.
Maybank One Solution is delivered through kiosks that operate every day, located at branch self-service terminal areas, shopping malls and hypermarkets.
Through this new product, Maybank aims to target three micro segments – youths, working class families and fresh graduates who have just entered workforce and in need proper financial guidance.
By the end of 2013, Maybank hopes to have targeted 400,000 new customers of which 90% would be mass customers. Of these mass customers, Maybank targets 30% to 40% to sign up for the One Solution.
Dato’ Sri Abdul Wahid, president and chief executive officer of Maybank (pictured left), said the introduction of One Solution is in line with the bank’s mission to humanise financial services across Asia and that the bank will expand its touch points and networks via new kiosks around Malaysia in order to be closer to its customers.
Maybank aims to add another 45 new kiosks by 2013 to its existing 25 and has plans to bring this offering to other regional markets.
According to Ng T’ze-Mae, head of retail brand and marketing communications of Maybank, the promotion campaign for Maybank One Solution comprises two phases. The first phase comprised a video infographic promoted on YouTube in June to raise awareness of the new banking concept.
Phase one also includes a contest and on-ground activation, featuring ‘Ambient Walkers’ in Bukit Bintang, Maybank vehicles driving around in Klang Valley and participation in Media Prima’s Jom Heboh Carnival in December.
Phase two of the promotion will kick off in 2013 with additional promotional locations.
Maybank One Solution has already been piloted over the last seven months and has seen the acquisition of over 30,000 new customers.
Maybank is also looking into partnering with corporations that provide benefits to their employees.
Azlan Mohd Ghulam, vice president head, mass banking community distribution community financial services, told A+M that Maybank One Solution is currently in the midst of developing an iPhone and Android app which will allow users to manage their daily finances.
