Maxus swoops on Zenith to fill senior roles

Yvonne Lau and Chris Chong, former business director and former associate director at ZenithOptimedia Hong Kong respectively, have left the agency to join Maxus Hong Kong.This comes after former ZenithOptimedia Hong Kong managing director Florence Wong left the agency to join New Media Group earlier this year.At Maxus Hong Kong, after Stanley Ngai was promoted from general manager to managing director, Lau was hired to fill the GM role.  Meanwhile, Chong has been named business director at Maxus Hong Kong, replacing former associate planning director Ebby Lai.Maxus Hong Kong business director Chris ChongBoth Lau and Chong came on board in February and reports to Ngai."Yvonne is a very solid media practitioner. With her joining, Stanley can quickly step up to his new role, as we are very confident that Yvonne can quickly pick up his previous responsibilities and work with Stanley to continue the growth of Maxus Hong Kong," Melanie Lo, CEO at GroupM Hong Kong, said.Ngai said Lau is a strong leader with plenty of experience in a range of account types, from FMCG to beauty, and will help the agency build strong relationships within the media industry.All teams within Maxus Hong Kong report to Lau and she is also responsible for business development.At Maxus, Chong manages a team of 12 members of staff including traditional and digital media planners.  The accounts that she oversees mostly fall under the banking and finance, FMCG and technology categories.Prior to working at ZenithOptimedia Hong Kong, Chong had worked for GroupM's Mindshare as senior director from 2012 to 2013."Chris is knowledgeable of banking and finance, FMCG and technology accounts, as well as the internal workings of GroupM," Ngai said."I have great confidence in both Yvonne and Chris and I believe their strong backgrounds will blend in well with our culture of being passionate, agile, cooperative and entrepreneurial and help us achieve our goals."
