“It is not only essential, but critical, that the creative community in the advertising industry understands the parameters of protection of intellectual property, particularly with advances in technology and social media,” emphasized Dato Johnny Mun (pictured), president of The Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As).
For two days only, the 4As in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) in conjunction with the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) will be organising a workshop to train advertising executives on managing intellectual property.
The workshop will be held at the Pusat Latihan Harta Intelek (IPTC), Level 12A Tower B at Menera UOA Bangsar from 12-13 December from 8:30 am – 6:00 pm.
Topics will include identifying intellectual property rights in the advertising industry, valuation of intellectual property rights, best practices for managing copyright and others, including dispute resolution in advertising.
Confirmed speakers are Dimiter Gantchev, Dr. Vladimir Yossifov, Michael C.M. Soo, Gordon Smith, and Tony Yeoh.
Admission is free for members of 4As, MAA, MSA, CRM, MDA, ABC and PPFIM. One hundred Boomerang points will be awarded to participating agency.
