Some couples have their weddings in churches, other at the beach. So why not, literally take it a notch higher and have it in a plane? In the spirit of love and Valentine’s Day, Scoot along with its ad agency Publicis Singapore, teamed up to host a lucky couple for Singapore’s first in-flight wedding. The groom, Benjamin Lee, exchanged vows with his bride Janessa Li on board Scoot flight TZ 8 on February 11. They were joined by friends and family members, and were surrounded by flight crew dressed as angels and cupids. The happy couple are now enjoying a six-day honeymoon in Perth."Scoot is renowned for having fun and has facilitated numerous events such as birthday parties and anniversary celebrations over the past four years,” Campbell Wilson, Scoot’s CEO said.“But we have our romantic side too. We’ve hosted numerous onboard wedding proposals – including a great effort from one of our crew – and in 2013 TZ301 saw the world’s longest inflight kiss stretch all the way from Bangkok to Singapore. This Valentine's Day we’ve jumped in to help Benjamin - nominated by his fiancé as the most un-romantic person around - tie the knot with the lovely Janessa whilst Scootin’ to Perth.”Some people hold their weddings in churches, others on the beach... But Benjamin here is truly the king of 'spoil market...Posted by FlyScoot on Saturday, February 13, 2016 The wedding was the culmination of Scoot’s “Spoil Market Lah” campaign, which aimed to transform the most unromantic man in Singapore into one capable of making grand gestures of love. The campaign also involved collaboration with Tourism Western Australia to feature Perth as a romantic getaway. In addition to the grand prize of the in-flight wedding, Scoot also featured love declarations from 35 Facebook fans on the February 12 edition of Singapore’s TODAY newspaper.Lou Dela Pena, chief executive officer of Publicis Singapore added: “Our close working relationship with Scoot and their trust in us allows our creative team to think freely and come up with fun and innovative concepts like this wedding in the sky.”
