It looks like Malaysia has a unique brand position - as the most popular country name for babies in America. Yup, you heard it right - apparently there's a trend for naming your baby after a country.According to data collected by the United States (US) Social Security Administration , in 2013, 630 baby girls in America were named "Malaysia", reported online publication Swimmingly.Malaysia was reported to be the most popular country name with its popularity doubling up between 2012 and 2013.The publication suggested that the reality TV show Basketball Wives LA which premiered in August 2011, with NBA point guard Jannero Pargo’s wife Malaysia Pargo, among its stars would have been the possible reason to this phenomenon.Other countries that have inspired baby names include Kenya, America, India, Holland and Egypt.[Image from Shutterstock]
