LinkedIn records 50 million members in APAC

Online professional network, LinkedIn, has reported it has crossed the 50 million members mark in Asia Pacific. The tally consists of nine countries with India seeing 24+ million users, Australia 5 million, China 4 million, Indonesia and the Philippines 2 million, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia and New Zealand catering to one million members each.LinkedIn expanded into the Asian market with its regional centre in Singapore back in 2011. Without questions, the localisation of content for Asian markets the site has added six Asian languages and introduced several Asia-based influencers to enrich the LinkedIn experience.Hari Krishnan, managing director of LinkedIn Asia Pacific and Japan shared: “The strong growth we are seeing in our member base is a great encouragement for us.  We still have much to do in terms of connecting all professionals around the world.
