Lifestyle Asia has named a new editor-in-chief ahead of its tenth anniversary.
Michael Alan Connelly, former editor of U.S. travel website fodors.com, will to lead its editorial team in Hong Kong and look to enhance the editorial quality, perception and overall experience of Lifestyle Asia.
“I couldn’t be more excited to join Lifestyle Asia as it celebrates its tenth anniversary, and I can’t wait to collaborate with the talented Hong Kong team to take this brand to the next level,” said Michael. “Asia is the new home of luxury, and Lifestyle Asia is exactly where I want to be—at the forefront of the scene.”
Lifestyle Asia said the appointment looks to increasing its market-leading position in the luxury digital publishing space. In addition to editorial investments, the company is developing a new web and mobile experience, both set to launch in Q3 2016. Later this year, Lifestyle Asia will also celebrate its tenth anniversary with events in Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur.
All this comes amidst a massive increase in luxury digital advertising, with Lifestyle Asia’s revenues soaring 75% YoY thanks to increased spending by major players in the luxury apparel and watches & jewelry sectors; during the same period, the company has seen a readership growth of 30%. Augmented by this exciting new hire, the company is forecasting strong growth and its best Q3 and Q4 since launching a decade ago.
