Lianhe Zaobao, the Chinese flagship newspaper of Singapore Press Holdings, has launched Z-Shop, a Chinese New Year (CNY) microsite that provides useful information and services related to the upcoming festive celebrations.
The microsite is a collaboration between Zaobao Online and Qoo10, one of Asia’s leading online marketplace. Z-Shop features an online shop selling CNY products. Apart from shopping, the site is packed with content related to CNY celebrations.
The “Taste” section in the site provides users with the latest food trends and items on special offers during the festive season while the “Style” section offers fashion and styling tips for those who want to look their best in the Year of the Monkey. Readers who want to find out about the best places to soak in the festive mood during CNY can check out the “Fun” section, where an interactive map shows the various events and activities during the festive period.
Han Yong May, digital editor of Chinese Media Group cum associate editor of Lianhe Zaobao, SPH, said: “We hope this microsite will provide useful and interesting information to our readers during this festive season. The setting up of Z-shop also marks our foray into e-commerce. Together with the delivery of content through integration of words, graphics and videos, this microsite will be a source of interesting ideas and useful information for online users as we usher in the Year of the Monkey.”
Cho Hyun Wook, managing director of Qoo10, said, “Qoo10 is pleased to collaborate with Lianhe Zaobao to set up Z-Shop on the CNY microsite. This is an opportunity for us to assist merchants and business owners who are keen to explore e-commerce as an additional sales channel. Qoo10 hopes that consumers as well as merchants will benefit from and enjoy the process of online shopping during this festive period.”
