Leung quits DDB for new social focused role

Just over a year after leaving WPP, Rudi Leung is making a return, this time taking up a senior role at Social@Ogilvy.Last August Leung left digital agency Agenda to lead digital and social media for Tribal DDB and the wider DDB Group in Hong Kong and Guangzhou.Thomas Crampton, Asia Pacific Director of Social@Ogilvy, confirmed to Marketing that Leung had joined the team and would have a regional role, but with a strong focus on Hong Kong and China markets.Crampton described Leung as one of the shining lights of social and digital industry."Rudi will bring tremendous strength to the team," he said. "We are really excited to have him."Leung had spent more than four years with Agenda, where as director of communication planning he led strategy for the agency's key clients including 7-Eleven, Air New Zealand, Benefit Cosmetics, Colgate and Microsoft.He officially joined the Ogilvy team today (Monday 19 August).In a statement, Simone Tam, president & CEO of DDB Group Hong Kong, said the agency was now lining up a number of candidates to replace Leung."As GM of Tribal Worldwide Hong Kong and Director of Digital of DDB Group Hong Kong, Rudi decided to leave us for a regional social media role. We wish him every success with this."
