Lenovo's head of global engagement marketing exits

Lawrence Yu, head of global engagement marketing has left Lenovo after six years with the company. He was responsible for creating and implementing global marketing programs and driving Lenovo’s brand awareness and business transformation.Yu (pictured) was previously executive assistant to the chairman and CEO of Lenovo and aided in shaping corporate strategy, ensure disciplined execution and relationship management with business partners, clients and government agencies.Replacing him is Quinn O' Brien, vice president for Worldwide Brand, who is the leader of Lenovo's social media and global engagement team. He and the team will continue to drive engagement online and building Lenovo's presence as a creative and compelling brand in the digital and social space, the company told Marketing.In recent years, Lenovo has seen a fair bit of shuffle in the SEA management team. Most recently the brand appointed Kenneth Low as its marketing lead for Southeast Asia. Low, who is based in Malaysia, is tasked with driving Lenovo’s brand growth across PC, mobile and enterprise business in Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam.Meanwhile the company appointed Sumir Bhatia as the  new vice president of data center group (DCG) for Asia Pacific. Based in Singapore, Bhatia will report directly to Ken Wong, senior vice president and president, Lenovo Asia Pacific. With the appointment, Bhatia will take over Asia Pacific DCG leadership responsibilities from Amar Babu, who is also Lenovo Asia Pacific’s chief operating officer and ASEAN general manager.Also late last year the company lost social media expert Rod Strother who joined StarHub as VP, digital transformation. He now reports to former VP of corporate development for Lenovo, Howie Lau. Lau is now StarHub’s  chief marketing officer.
