Lenovo PH hires new GM

Lenovo has named a new country general manager for the Philippines, promoting Michael Ngan from Lenovo ASEAN following the early retirement of Maria Victoria Agorrilla.Ngan will be reporting directly to Koh Kong Meng, president and general manager of Lenovo East Asia Region. His role has officially started on 16 October and will be based in Manila. Ngan was previously the Lenovo ASEAN SMB Leader and was tasked to offer the brand's products to small & medium businesses across the region. The business unit saw its market share grow from 6.4% in 2011 to a record high of 10.8% in the second quarter of 2013 under his watch.Ngan is no stranger in the Philippines, having held C-level roles in CPL Philippines, Inc.’s Co and  IBM Business Manager for MIP Philippines, Inc.Meng said the Philippines recently saw double-digit growth, contributing to Lenovo’s position as the top PC maker globally."The appointment of Michael, Lenovo’s former Small and Medium Business (SMB) Leader for ASEAN, reinforces Lenovo’s business strategy to further strengthen the company’s market leadership in the PC space in the Philippines, expand its current market share in the PC Plus market and grow our smartphone and tablet business, in our efforts to become the global leader in the PC Plus world," he adds.
