KLfive Launches Internet TV

Online pay television KLfive has launched new internet television service with an option for users to pay for only what they want to watch.It aims to offer 1,500 hours of premium programming per quarter sourced from all points across the globe within 24 hours of its original date of broadcast in the host country.Izham Abdullah (pictured), chief executive officer of KLfive, said the media environment needs to undergo a dramatic shift to address the current lifestyle trends, accessibility of content via multiple platforms, family budget controls, and an alternate pay model."Our game-change business model is a perfect fit for this generation's content consumers. Unlike pay television that works with a pre-packaged menu of programming, basically we're offering convenience for users to access content without repeats, superfluous bundling and delays," added Abdullah.Content on KLfive includes top-rated prime-time programmes, available as soon as they are aired in the United States, and current movies within a six-month window from the date of release. Also available is a cross-section of lifestyle, health, children's programmes, documentaries, and never-before-seen series.KLfive has licensing deals with CBS, NBC Universal, Showtime, Freemantle Media International, ITV Studios, Switch International, among many others.Apart from the a'la carte model, KLfive also offers a low-price monthly subscription starting at RM15 that entitles subscribers to a minimum combination of 10 titles from various genres.
