Tribal Worldwide Malaysia has been named the social media agency for K & N Kenanga Holdings Berhad and its subsidiary companies. While Kenanga’s early success was based on its stock broking business, the independent investment bank now offers investment options from unit trust, PRS, derivatives, Islamic banking to wealth management and online trading. Kenanga was named the number one retail broker in Malaysia by Bursa Malaysia Berhad. Its move into social media was in line with its focus to increase its retail market presence – which also included a brand image refresh – through its first foray into Facebook. Tribal was tasked to setting up and managing Kenanga’s Facebook Page. Tribal will also work closely with Kenanga to develop several digital campaigns and extend its digital reach beyond Facebook. Its future campaigns will aim at capturing the retail audience and encourage early financial planning.“We were looking for an agency that could provide a strong and focused social direction for the Group. Tribal Worldwide Malaysia brought to the table a creative strategy complemented with an out-of-the-box approach. The ideas were fresh, vibrant, focused and forward looking,” Chuah Sze Phing, head of group marketing & communications at Kenanga Group said.Lola Chin, general manager of Tribal Worldwide Malaysia said, “It is common for Malaysians (particularly the younger generation) to defer their savings and investments decisions. Coupled with the recent increase in essential goods and utilities, financial planning will be even more crucial. Together with Kenanga, we believe this is an opportunity for us to educate the younger generation and to encourage early financial planning.”
