About The Job

Reporting to the Deputy Executive Director / Director, Operations, the Head of Business Planning & Industry Liaison is responsible for the development of strategic business plans for So Drama! Entertainment (SDE). The incumbent also ensures the department functions effectively as an interface between MINDEF/SAF and the media and entertainment (M&E) industry.

Developing Business Plans
- This will include being overseeing the strategy and direction of the business plans for SDE, business proposals for MINDEF-related activities and external business collaborations.
- To help team understand the business dynamics of all SDE platforms and develop business propositions that harness the strengths of the platforms so as to engage audiences through dynamic storytelling.
Analysing Performance and Effectiveness
- Oversee the establishment of tangible and non-tangible measurements of effectiveness and performance of SDE’s efforts.
- Oversee the financial and business performance analysis in support of business activities and strategic planning.
- Oversee the analysing of data and statistics of current needs and trends of media & entertainment consumers and prepare reports for management reporting.
- Ensure financial and non-financial KPIs are met, monitor business strategy implementations and troubleshoot issues impacting business performance through team’s collaboration with the relevant departments.
Reviewing and Forecasting Business Plans
- Keep abreast of the latest company business policies and processes, as well as review workflows and propose ways to streamline them for greater effectiveness and efficiency.
- Provide regular updates to management and relevant departments on financial reviews and competitive analysis.
Being a Liaison for and a Proposer of Fresh Projects
- Ensure that new films, web series and/or other M&E products that convey defence messages and positively portray the SAF are actively being proposed. This shall be done both externally through collaborations with partners in the M&E industry and internally within SDE.
- Ensure that the treatment and screenplay are reviewed and drafted, suggesting changes where necessary and obtain approval from relevant departments/units.
- Oversee the arrangement and coordination with the various departments/units on the use of equipment and appearances of SAF personnel for filming.
- Oversee the team in establishing contracts and agreements to ensure client’s reputation and intellectual property rights are upheld and objectives are adequately met.
