Hill+Knowlton Strategies has appointed ex-DeVries Asia lead Michelle Tham as managing director of its Singapore operations.Tham assumes the role previously held by Jamie Morse who has stepped down to pursue other opportunities.Morse (pictured) will continue as a senior advisor to assist with the leadership transition. Morse took on the role of Singapore lead last year in March.Tham will report to H+K President and CEO, Asia, John Morgan, and her role will be effective 3 November.Tham earlier helped to set up DeVries' Asia operation based out of Singapore in 2012. She exited DeVries in May this year and had more than a decade of experience at Weber Shandwick prior to the DeVries role.“The baseline today is that we intimately understand the changing landscape of traditional media, we’re digitally savvy, and have the right mix of talent to create breakthrough strategies.  That just gets us in the door.  I strive to instill a ‘challenger’ mentality in which we bring agencies to the table in a more meaningful way than ever before,” said Tham.Tham's appointment comes on the heels of another senior appointment at H+K Strategies, Elke Pascoe, who takes on the role of regional director of health and wellness.“Under the leadership of our Asia Pacific Chairman, Viv Lines, we’re making the right investments, at the right time, to strengthen and diversify our client service offerings,” Morgan added.“Acquiring creative digital shops like Rice5 and bringing on board seasoned pros is just the beginning.  We’re looking at our business in new ways to ensure we’re well positioned in this new and exciting landscape where old filters and boundaries no longer apply.”
