Intel gets new global marketing leadership

Intel Corporation has named Steven Fund corporate vice president and chief marketing officer.Fund will be reporting directly to Intel CEO Brian Krzanich (pictured) and will join Intel effective 2 June.Fund replaces Intel’s CMO of six years Deborah Conrad who exited the role in April.In the new role, Fund will be responsible for a broad portfolio that includes Intel's global marketing strategy, brand management, product positioning, market research, advertising, partner marketing, retail channel marketing, digital marketing, social media, and global communications.Fund comes to Intel from Staples, where he was senior vice president of global marketing and member of the company's senior leadership team. Staples is the world's largest office products company.At Staples, Fund created the company's global marketing center of excellence, building an integrated team across business units and geographies. He also helped to strengthen Staples' communications, digital marketing and social media capabilities and restructured the company's approach to external agencies.He led the repositioning of the Staples brand through a new company vision, brand promise and tagline.Prior to Staples, Fund worked at Procter and Gamble where he led the global expansion of the Gillette Fusion product. Earlier in his career he held brand management leadership roles at the Pepsi-Cola Company."Steve has served in high-profile leadership roles while helping to build leading brands at some of the world's most prestigious companies," said Intel CEO Brian Krzanich."As our industry and our business is changing, we need to change the way we develop, build, and market our products, and Steve is going to be a key asset for us as we move forward.
