IKEA appoints new media agency for regional business

Following a media review, IKEA has appointed Vizeum for its media business across the region, which includes three markets in Asia: Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.

The incumbents were OMD in Singapore, PHD in Malaysia and Thailand. Vizeum’s appointment officially starts in September this year, for a contract period of two years. The first campaign from the appointment will roll out in September as well.

Both IKEA and Vizeum have confirmed the appointment in a release:

Yeong Tze Kuen, head of marketing IKEA said: “Vizeum demonstrated a real passion for the IKEA brand. The fluidity of local and regional teams working together to drive innovation was impressive, and we look forward to working closely with Vizeum across the region.”

“IKEA is an iconic brand and well known for being innovative in their approach to marketing. We’re delighted to have been awarded the account, and look forward to working closely with IKEA and BBH to find innovative solutions to drive further growth for the brand” said Duncan Pointer managing director, Vizeum Asia Pacific.
