Following the global launch of “It’s Never Just Business” campaign last year, HSBC Commercial Banking Hong Kong has taken this human sentiment and expressed it vividly through a series of short films featuring some of Hong Kong’s most iconic businesses, which are also long-serving customers of the bank.Developed by Grey Group Hong Kong, this cinematic campaign features five renowned businessmen including L.T. Lam, chairman of Forward Winsome Industries; Charlie Lee, chairman of Lee Kum Kee; Allan Zeman, chairman of Lan Kwai Fong Holdings; Henry Tan, CEO of Luen Thai Group; and Arthur Chow, CEO of 6waves.The 5-in-1 video:https://vimeo.com/126763394Through the short films, viewers get an intimate look at the unique journeys that each business has taken: the early days, ups and downs, and real passions that have driven its success. The films ultimately serve to remind that behind each business is a unique set of challenges and ambitions.[gallery link="file" ids="94253,94252"]Speaking at the Launch Ceremony, Albert Chan, head of commercial Banking, Hong Kong, said: "This campaign is special to us because it highlights the amazing journeys of five remarkable Hong Kong businesses who collectively have been customers of HSBC for close to two hundred years."These companies have successfully navigated multiple economic ups and downs, and have gone from strength to strength over decades and generations. While they have grown from small local companies to now international businesses, their roots remain in Hong Kong.”Keith Ho, managing director and chief creative officer of Grey Group Hong Kong, said the films do not follow the typical documentary-style approach.“We wanted the films to adopt a lively story-telling approach, with each film having its own unique style that matches the real-life story. Pairing interview footage with captivating visuals, we want people to both be entertained by and relate to each of the customer’s stories.”Taking one of the films as an example, he added: “Although Mr. L.T. Lam is already 90 years old, his passion in business matches that of a young entrepreneur – always exploring what’s next for the iconic yellow rubber duck, a first generation toy created by his company 60 years ago."It’s a human story that also links with how HSBC has continued to do all it can to help take the business further.”To launch the campaign, a 90-second preview ran on TV on 15 April, and is supported by TV, print, outdoor, in-branch and digital channels.Credits:Campaign: The Journey of Taking Business FurtherClient: The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation LimitedMD and chief creative officer: Keith HoGroup creative director: Keith LoCreative director: Christopher LeeAssociate creative director: Dave HoAssociate creative director: Henry YimAccount servicing team:Director of client services: Eric Leong Director of Client ServicesGroup account director: Joyce YiuAssociate account director: Apple LamAccount manager: Anna WongSenior account executive: Matthew LeeFilm director: Alfred HauMedia agency: Mindshare
