HP education advocacy goes Indie

Hewlett Packard Philippines (HP Philippines) has turned to indie films to engage students for the latest leg of HP A+, an ongoing education advocacy in partnership with the government and NGO groups.HP Philippines set out to create a total of five full-length independent films, with HP products making an appearance alongside its characters.The movies were made together with Ominicom-owned agency PHD, Sinehan Advocacy Media Projects (SAMP), Department of Health and the Philippine Business for Social Progress.“Ang Tweet ni Florante Kay Laura” (The Tweet of Florante for Laura), is the first of the five films, which had an initial round of screenings in different schools last month and had a larger public viewing last 5 March at SM North Edsa.The film, which is also SAMP’s first production, tells the story of Flo, an orphan boy from the province who can speak with literary characters as if they're real."Flying Kiss," an advocacy comedy-drama love story of a young woman's plight as a tuberculosis patient, is set to debut on March 19 to 25.
