Hong Kong International Airport has put its lucrative advertising business up for tender.
The contact, currently held by JCDecaux, serves some 63.3 million passengers, 73% of whom are university educated and 45% are executives, professionals and proprietors.
HKIA offers an extensive range of advertising spaces at strategic locations within the terminals and at the airport’s outdoor areas.
According to HKIA own records, revenue from advertising and retail licences in 2014 represented 41.7% of its annual turnover, or some HK$6.8 billion. The exact amount from advertising alone is not listed.
The company is asking interested bidders to pay HK$5,000 to request tender documents.
The open tender closes on 1 December at 2:30 p.m Hong Kong Time.
