Hill+Knowlton loses Facebook to Weber Shandwick Hong Kong

Facebook has ended its more than three years relationship with Hill+Knowlton Strategies, Marketing has learned.The social media giant hands its PR duties to Weber Shandwick Hong Kong, and the partnership has been effective starting from 1 September 2016.Rumours have circulated about the change in recent months, and it was confirmed when some media outlets received an event invitation from the new PR agency on behalf of Facebook.The agency will be working on a retainer basis to provide media communications and event managements."Facebook is one of the world’s most dynamic brands and we are very excited to have the opportunity to support its mission to connect the world and bring people together," said Albert Shu, Weber Shandwick’s Managing Director in Hong Kong. "We look forward to working with the team here in Hong Kong."Spokesperson from Hill+Knowlton Strategies "respectfully declines to comment".
