Havas Shanghai bags Uni Green Tea and Bank of Communications

Havas Shanghai has been appointed as the creative agency of record for beverage brand Uni Green Tea and the banking group Bank of Communications, following two separate competitive pitches.

Uni Green Tea, launched in 1999, is one of the flagship beverage brands of FMCG company Uni-President and ranks as the top soft drink choice among the younger generation in Mainland China. Havas Shanghai will be in charge of positioning the brand for a relaunch in 2017. The mandate for the brand covers development of the communications strategy and creative development across all platforms including TV, print, digital and BTL.

The agency won the Bank of Communications account following a pitch process that involved Y&R, Grey and Dentsu Aegis. Founded in 1908, Bank of Communications is one of the largest banks in China. Havas Shanghai will lead the bank’s brand strategy and creative advertising for a period of two years starting from October 2016.

Commenting on the appointments, Donald Chan, CEO of Havas Creative Group China said, “Our consecutive wins demonstrate our great integrated creative capability. We look forward to working with Uni-President and Bank of Communications and growing alongside the brands. We are confident that we will be able to help our clients establish a remarkable brand image.”

Havas Shanghai started working with Uni-President in August and will commence the partnership with Bank of Communications on October 1st.
