Havas has bought a majority stake in Singapore-based boutique PR agency Siren Communications, with the latter being renamed Euro RSCG Siren.Siren-Communication's founder, Karen Flynn(pictured), will lead the agency as managing director of Euro RSCG Siren.Previously, Euro RSCG launched its own public relations arm for the Southeast Asian region covering Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand and led by Nor Badron as managing director.Badron has since left the agency to pursue personal interests, a spokesperson for Euro RSCG said adding the new acquisition of Siren Communications is expected to fill the gap for Euro's public relations offerings.Siren specialises in social media, digital PR and content generation and the new agency will partner clients from a variety of sectors, such as IT, education, finance, logistics and lifestyle, including Brocade, Sophos, IDA Singapore, ESSEC Business School, RBS, Lion Global Investors, Atradius, ISC Global, and Frasers Centrepoint Malls."Bringing Karen and her team into the agency strengthens our integrated offering through their digital-savvy approach to PR. Their skills in content generation and new media will add great value to our clients' integrated marketing plans, and will be a fresh take on what PR can deliver," Matthew Fanshawe, managing director, Euro RSCG Asia Pacific said. The move follows Havas' earlier acquisitions of creative agency Host in Australia and Hong-Kong based financial PR agency Porda. The holding group also launched Arnold Shanghai earlier and tied up with Chinese integrated healthcare communications agencies.David Jones, Global CEO Havas said: "We've talked about our desire to grow both our digital business and our presence in Asia and this is another strategic step in that direction that delivers on both criteria."
