Google and MDA tie up for youthsGoogle and the Media Development Authority (MDA) have launched a local competition titled "Now You Know" to promote good online practices among the youth of Singapore. Singaporean students aged between 13 to 19 are invited to submit a five minute long video to educate their peers on positive online behaviour and the winning entry will win a four-days, three-nights trip to California for the team and an accompanying teacher. The second place winners will win Android phones, whilst the submission that garners the most public votes online will win a chance to visit in the Google office in Singapore for an afternoon. All winning teams will also get free Google Apps training for their schools.NDP Fun Pack for those at home Boutique digital creative shop Interuptive Communications has created a digital NDP Fun Pack app, which is a goodie bag for Singaporeans. The app is filled with tools such as "Glow & Go" which turns iPhones into a light stick and "Sound Bytes" which is a collection of fun sound effects, which can be used during the parade by shaking their phones and a "Big Birthday Blow-Out" game that lets users blow out Singapore's birthday candles virtually. The NDP Fun Pack app is available for free in the Apple App Store.Qunar appoints Interactive HubTravel search engine, Qunar has appointed media sales and internet marketing agency Interactive Hub (IHPL) as its official sales partner in Singapore. IHPL, a member of ihub Media Group, will handle the advertising sales of Qunar in Singapore and Hong Kong. Qunar offers Chinese consumers searches for air and rail tickets, hotels, and tour packages. It has recently expanded its product range by venturing into user-generated content where users can read or share reviews, group-buying deals, strategies to play and user discussion forums.
