Former HSBC head of marketing joins RHB Bank

Former HSBC head of marketing Abdul Sani Abdul Murad has joined RHB Bank as chief marketing officer. According to sources, he starts his role from today.He was previously the head of marketing at HSBC Malaysia, during which he oversaw the marketing teams of HSBC, HSBC Amanah and HSBC Amanah Takaful. Prior to joining HSBC, Abdul Murad was the senior marketing manager at Unilever Malaysia for over four years, where he led the hair care, skin care, deodorant and personal wash categories for Malaysia. Among the brands Abdul Murad managed included Sunsilk, Dove, Clear, Rexona and Lux.Abdul Murad joined Unilever Malaysia from Unilever Thailand, where he was the brand manager for Axe for more than a year. Prior to that, he was the brand manager at Unilever Malaysia for managed home and household care brands such as Breeze, Persil, Comfort, Ekonomi Handalan and Cif.Last month, RHB Bank appointed FCB Kuala Lumpur as its creative partner in Malaysia following a pitch. The agency’s first piece of work for the bank is the recently launched Raya film below titled “Apa ditunggu-tunggu setiap kali Raya?” which has received over 650,000 views in the two days since it was released.A+M has reached out to RHB Bank and Abdul Murad for a comment.
