Fluid opens up to Bitcoin payment system

As digital currency hits record high, independent agency Fluid will start accepting Bitcoin currency as payment for one of its new offerings.Bitcoin, a currency system which can be used to pay for goods and services online, has risen to prominence in recent years as its value has soared, particularly on the mainland. In recent weeks it has made headlines after Taobao, China’s largest e-commerce platform, banned Bitcoin trading, citing government regulations. But still, debate about its role in the digital world, particularly in medium-sized countries, can not be excused. From next month Fluid is claiming a Hong Kong first by opening up its payment to Bitcoin currency, initially for a two hour social media seminar, but Fluid CEO Guy Parsonage did not rule out expanding it to other areas of the agency.“We see that it is in its infancy at the moment, but it has practical applications that we can take advantage of as we grow our regional business,” he said.“At Fluid we are constantly researching new trends and features in the digital space so that we can give our clients the best advice, we also feel that the best way to understand something new is to get amongst it. Just yesterday a South Korean bitcoin startup, Korbit, received $400,000 in seed funding from a group of investors. Korbit is also Korea’s largest Bitcoin exchange, with more than 20,000 registered users and is said to trade around $300,000 per day with a 0.6% fee on buying and selling the digital currency.
