FCB KL makes key promotions for creative and planning teams

FCB Kuala Lumpur has promoted associate creative director Syed Ferohaizal to head of creative. He will be responsible for FCB's creative personnel, while working closely with chief creative officer Ong Shi Ping.Art director James Voon was also promoted to senior art director, and will report to Ferohaizal. Before that, he worked at BBDO Malaysia for more than three years, as designer and art director, according to his LinkedIn.Other individuals promoted also include Syahriza Badron, Eva Lim and Karan Chhabra. As senior account director, Badron will lead the business unit comprising Motorola, Desaru Coast and RHB, while newly appointed senior account managers Lim and Chhabra are responsible for FCB's Motorola and Beiersdorf accounts respectively. All three report to Natasha Aziz, head of account management.According to his LinkedIn, Chhabra has been with FCB for over three years, starting out as a senior account executive before assuming the role of account manager and senior account manager. He was previously with TBWA\\Kuala Lumpur for over two years as an account executive.Strategic planning director Eldon D’Cruz was also promoted to planning director, and will now lead FCB's planning unit. He reports to Shaun Tay, CEO of FCB Kuala Lumpur. Prior to joining FCB, D'Cruz was a senior planner at TBWA\\Kuala Lumpur for over one year, according to his LinkedIn. Before that, he was the account planning manager at JWT for over one year and brand planning associate at Leo Burnett for close to three years.“We’ve seen a lot of success this year and every part of it was because our people had risen to the occasion in a big way. The pace we set wasn’t easy but these individuals went above and beyond every time, setting a brilliant example for the entire agency," Tay said.“Having a dynamic and diverse team of senior leaders was always a key priority for us. Together with Aziz and LiLian Hor, head of digital we now have a solid core of young, talented individuals who I hope will be the future of our agency in the years to come," Tay added. The agency also promoted HR manager Jamie Tan to operations director, who also reports to Tay.The promotions come after FCB KL was chosen by Motorola Asia Pacific as its creative agency in October, following a pitch which also saw M&C Saatchi making it into the final rounds.
