Unilever and GOLIN Singapore triumph at the regional PR Awards 2018

Unilever Singapore once again triumphed at Marketing magazine’s fifth annual regional PR Awards held in Singapore, taking home the title of ‘PR Awards Champion – Brand’ while GOLIN Singapore took home the top agency title as ‘PR Awards Champion – Agency’.

GOLIN Singapore bagged eight Golds, eight Silvers and five Bronze awards for campaigns that include ‘#TweetToTheTop’, ‘Nespresso One Pod At A Time Campaign’, ‘Ben & Jerry’s Non-Dairy’ and ‘Heineken #MoreThanARace’.

Unilever Singapore’s trophy haul included, Gold award in the category ‘Best Media Relations Campaign’. The company also scored four Silvers for ‘Best Engagement for a Targeted Community’, ‘Best PR Campaign – Food and Beverage’, ‘Best Product Launch / Re-Launch PR Campaign’ and ‘Best Re-Branding PR Campaign’; Bronze for ‘Best Digital Communications Strategy’ and ‘Best PR-led Integrated Communications’. Award winning campaigns from Unilever Singapore included the ‘#MadeToBeBroken with Magnum Pint’, ‘Ben & Jerry’s #FlavourKnockout’, ‘Knorr Salted Egg Goodness’ and ‘Lux Advocacy Programme’.

Runner-up Asia Pacific Breweries clinched one Gold, three Silver and two Bronze awards, missing the overall title by a deficit of one Silver award.

Judges did not have an easy time as there was fierce competition when assessing the best communications campaigns from Southeast Asia and two points separated the top two performing brands according to an exponential-weighted point system, meaning four points are allocated for Gold, two points for Silver and one point for Bronze.

Other winners at this year’s awards include Singapore Tourism Board (Oceania), Changi Airport Group, Shell Malaysia, Porsche Asia Pacific, SAP Asia, McDonald’s Singapore, among others.

A total of 92 trophies were presented to the leading senior PR professionals and marketers from across Southeast Asia, South Asia and ANZ. PR Awards 2018 was supported by partners Media Outreach, Graphiss Media and BottlesXO.
