Leo Burnett undisputed winner of Agency of the Year Awards Malaysia

Leo Burnett Group was crowned Agency of the Year for 2017 at A+M’s eighth Agency of the Year Awards Malaysia tonight at the Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur, making it the fourth consecutive time the agency has snagged the title.

Over 500 marketers and leading agency professionals came together to celebrate and witness Leo Burnett score five gold and three silver awards placing them comfortably ahead of the competition.

The agency, which is part of the fourth largest communications network won gold for Brand Consultancy of the Year, Content Marketing Agency of the Year, Creative Agency of the Year, Digital Agency of the Year and Public Relations Agency of the Year, proving that is a truly integrated creative agency and group.

The judges were impressed by the organisation’s focus on “People, Product, Profit, in that order”, and commitment to the core value “HumanKind” which states “it’s not about advertising or brand propositions or marketing. It’s about people and purpose.”

The next in line on the night was M&C Saatchi Malaysia who landed one gold for Social Marketing Agency of the Year and two silver for Creative Agency of the Year and Digital Agency of the Year.

Other high scoring agencies in 2017 included SearchGuru, Saatchi & Saatchi Arachnid and Zenith Malaysia. Local Hero winners, who represent grass-roots in Malaysia included Immerse, K-GIC, Kingdom Digital Solutions Malaysia, Dreamteam, A&D EVENTS, Dynamic Search, GO Communications and LOCUS-T Online.

During the MARKies Awards, a key portion of the Agency of the Year Awards where one award is given in each of the 33 categories for specific campaigns, Publicis Communications secured the Overall Creative Idea MARKie Award and Dentsu LHS won the Overall Media Usage MARKie Award.

 

Publicis took out the overall creative ideas award with three wins in Best Idea – Content Marketing, Best Idea – Digital and Best Idea – Female Audience for their campaign “Happiness is Homemade” for MAGGI Malaysia.

Dentsu also won in three categories for the media usage section, specifically Best Use of Integrated Media, Best Use of OOH and Best Use of TV and all for the client Etika and their beverage brands Calpis, Mountain Dew and Goodday.

Havas Media Malaysia and Entropia had wins in multiple categories for the MARKies this year.

In total 75 trophies were awarded to Malaysia’s leading agencies helping to set the benchmark for success.
