Esquire in search of the Best Dressed Man

Esquire's ‘The Best Dressed Real Man' competition has returned for the second year, with returning partners Wardrobe and Lustro as the official apparel brands, and new partner Kronenbourg 1664 as the official event beer.Mongoose Publishing is also finalising partnerships with premium camera and watch brands.The competition, which chief content officer of Mongoose Publishing Matt Bellotti says is an Esquire tradition, is also held in various countries around the world and the positive response received last year in Malaysia was the reason for its return.For Kronenbourg 1664, the partnership with Esquire was in line with where it wanted to take the brand and the exposure is an accurate fit."Through the partnership, we are able to reach out to the right consumers, enhance our brand presence and dovetail an event that is in line with where we want to take Kronenbourg 1664," says marketing director of Carlsberg Marketing York Spencer.Last year's competition saw over 100 submissions. This year, Mongoose is confident of achieving 150 entries through its roadshows, promotions and open invitations.Roadshows will be held this week at the Mongoose office, Universal McCann, Starcom and Publika, Solaris Dutamas, where participants can submit their details and get their picture taken by an Esquire photographer.Bellotti added that they decided to go directly to locations where stylish men can be found, and media agencies were a natural choice, as was Publika.In spreading the word on the competition, Esquire ran promotions for several months along with website and social network updates on its Facebook and Twitter pages.Electronic direct mailers (EDMs) were also sent to Esquire's database, while promos were done by sponsors and event partner Publika.Sponsors will be given exposure in all communication materials pertaining to the event.
