Epson on the hunt for integrated comms agency partner

Electronics company Epson has launched a pitch looking for an agency to handle public relations and social media duties for selected campaigns for its products including printers. Marketing understands that this is part of an annual agency review process for the company and that the incumbent on the account is currently Asia PR Werkz.

Marketing has reached out to Epson for comment.

In 2015, Epson partnered with Matsumoto Yamaga Football Club (FC) and Football Association of Singapore (FAS), to sponsor a player from the Singapore national team to train with Matsumoto Yamaga Football Club in Japan. The training stint was part of Epson’s efforts to contribute towards sports and youth development in Singapore and the region.

Meanwhile, it appointed Toshimitsu Tanaka as its managing director of its regional office in Singapore. He held the appointment concurrently with the positions of Epson Philippines Corporation’s (EPC) president/country Manager, president director of Epson Thailand and director of Epson Indonesia. The move follows the retirement of former MD Koichi Endo.
