Edwin Koh takes on COO role at MyChinaChannel

Content aggregator MyChinaChannel (MCC) has appointed Edwin Koh, former director and head of corporate affairs at Far East Organization as chief operating officer. The company has confirmed the news to Marketing.This new appointment comes at a time when MCC is expanding its network of media partners in China, which will open up more opportunities to bring the best of Chinese content to Singapore and the rest of the world. Koh has been brought in to strengthen the senior management team as MCC continues its expansion drive.MCC is focused on providing a suite of Chinese content on current affairs, education and lifestyle. Last year, MCC announced that they will be co-developing content with leading financial newswire China Business Network (“CBN”), for audiences in China, Hong Kong and Singapore, via StarHub Cable (Channel 809).Koh was with Far East Organization for over three years. Prior to that, he was senior vice president (group sales & marketing) at MediaCorp Pte Ltd. His other stints include working with brands such as Samsung, APB and SingTel.In his new role, Koh will help grow MCC’s business objectives and operations. He will look over the sales and marketing teams as well as customer experiences and public affairs. He will work with CEO Patrick Yong to build up the company’s presence and portfolio.Yong said: "Over the years, China-made television content has been making great leaps in terms of quality and variety and we are glad to have entered this market at an early stage to be able to ride on their increasing popularity. Koh’s appointment to the team has come at an opportune time as we have exciting plans to grow our content and extend our audience base to the ASEAN region."
