Edipresse Media Singapore names new MD

Edipresse Media Singapore has appointed Corinne Ng as managing director in a move designed to take the luxury-lifestyle media company through its next phase of growth.Ng is a publishing-industry stalwart with 18 years of experience helming successful magazines in Singapore, including Harper’s Bazaar, Elle and Cleo. Ng began her career as a copywriter before taking on senior editorial positions, such as Editorial Director at ACP Magazines and subsequently Group Editor at Mediacorp.During her tenure at Mediacorp, Ng spearheaded numerous magazine launches and their readership growths in markets across Asia, including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Taiwan. More recently, she furthered honed her business skills as one of the founding partners of shopthemag.com, an online fashion portal that globally retails Asia’s most respected fashion designers.Ng succeeds Gilbert Cheah (pictured) who announced his plans to leave the company last week.Edipresse Media Asia CEO Zita Ong said: “Ng’s experience in both traditional and digital media makes her the ideal person to oversee our business at a time when the media industry is undergoing an exciting evolution. She is highly entrepreneurial and brings with her a deep understanding of editorial fundamentals. We’re excited to have her lead the Singapore team through the next phase of growth.”Joining Ng as general manager of sales is Stephanie Tay, who replaces Lena Kwek. Tay has over 14 years of experience in sales leadership roles. Having worked at Mediacorp and, prior to that, Singapore Press Holdings, Stephanie has led sales teams on Singapore’s top-selling female consumer magazines, including Female, Nuyou, Elle and Style and has successfully launched first-to-market digital products, including Elle.sg and Style on iPad.
