Malaysia – The Edge is set to launch a new pullout #edGY, targeted at the Gen Y of entrepreneurs, professionals and other young newsmakers.
“Everyone from employers to marketers and even Gen Y parents want to understand them, and so do we. We want to know what they think, what they want, what they do and what drives them,” says Ho Kay Tat, group CEO, publisher, The Edge Media Group.
To tell their stories better, the decision was made that all editorial members of #edGY will come from Gen Y, the average age being 27.
Joyce Goh heads the team as editor and been with The Edge for seven years. She was previously deputy editor with the Corporate & Markets desk.
The cover story for the first issue titled “The it Job” is on the growing trend of young Malaysians who are leaving cushy jobs to be entrepreneurs – their successes, failures and pitfalls.
The first issue will hit newsstands this weekend (Aug 19 – 25).
