Edelman Digital has moved Thomas Tang from its US office to Hong Kong to take on the role of director of paid and social media strategy for Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa.
Tang has served as paid and social media strategy lead for Edelman Digital’s US Western Region, working with clients such as Qualcomm, Adobe, PayPal, Microsoft and Starz Networks.
In his new role, he will oversee digital operations locally in addition to Edelman’s paid media strategy across the region.
Tang will have a dual reporting line to Gavin Coombes, president of Edelman Digital and Andrew Kirk, managing director of Edelman Hong Kong and Taiwan.
“Thomas is a best-of-breed specialist in paid media and digital in addition to being a great manager of people and leading client campaigns,” Coombes said.
“His prior experience leading integrated systems and cultures across borders and time zones at Edelman Digital in the US will be a major asset for our organization and for our clients in this region.”
Kirk added that as information and content becomes increasingly infinite, digital programming will rarely succeed without a search and paid media strategy.
“Having Thomas in the region will allow us to provide clients with more integrated end-to-end social media and digital solutions.”
His role begins immediately.
