The Walt Disney Company Southeast (TWDC SEA) will be launching Disney XD, a brand new kids channel, in the Philippines this 31 May via TV operator Cignal TV and cable distributor Accion.
Targeted at kids aged 6 to 14 years, Disney XD will be a boy-focused, girl-inclusive channel. It will be carried on Cignal TV’s basic postpaid plan 430 (Channel 107), and on the basic pack of provincial cable affiliates through Accion.
All Cignal TV post-paid plan subscribers will get to enjoy Disney XD in HD on Cignal. Disney XD is the third Disney 24-hour channel on Cignal TV and will join Disney Channel (Channel 32) on Plan 430, and Disney Junior (Channel 31) on Plan 590.
Disney XD’s programming mix include original Disney XD series, action/ adventure movies, animation and anime, and comedy. Shows include a new Marvel series and the highly anticipated Star Wars animation series, Star Wars Rebels.
“We are very excited to be the first Pay-TV service provider to launch Disney XD in HD in the Philippines,” said Annie Naval, COO & Managing Director, Cignal TV. “This partnership with Disney XD proves our commitment to provide the best viewing experience and high-quality content, which is what we guarantee to our subscribers.”
Scheduled in the weeks are a host of on-air and off-air promotions to introduce the world of XD to Filipino children and families across the country.
