Discovery Networks Asia Pacific makes six new appointments

Discovery Networks Asia Pacific (DNAP) has made key appointments to its executive leadership team in Southeast Asia. With a consumer-first approach, the new team is tasked to engage audiences across multiple touch-points while delivering content that drives social conversations.Gerald Ang (pictured top far left) will take on the role of director of audience engagement with a mandate to shift the approach towards conversational marketing. Ang was previously a global digital leader at General Electric, where he was responsible for strategy and leadership in digital marketing and communications across emerging markets globally.Ivy Esquero (pictured bottom second from right) is now director, head of consumer insights. She will be tasked to create new connection paths to audiences based on data-driven analytics. Previously, Esquero headed the Asia Pacific and the global consumer decision journey practice at research startup, Tapestry Research. As part of the senior management team, she led product development focusing on consumer segmentation and behavioral analytics.Au-Rin Phongsobhon (pictured top second from left) will take on the role as creative director, where he will implement the creative strategy and lead the development of 360-promotional content. Prior to his role, Phongsobhon was digital creative director at Dentsu 360/Dentsu Media Thailand. He led the creative, graphic, and production teams responsible for campaign strategy for both offline and online content.Rohit Tharani (pictured bottom far right) takes on the role of director of content curation, to oversee the development and implementation of content strategy for the company’s portfolio across all platforms. Prior to DNAP, Tharani was programming director, head of content and communication at Fox Networks Group,Meanwhile, Vina Limanto (pictured top far right) is now manager of strategy to design integrated market-specific growth strategies that drive growth and profitability. Prior to DNAP, Limanto was a strategy consultant within the telecommunications, media, and technology sector at Analysys Mason.Davina Tan (pictured bottom far left) will take on the role of manager of corporate communications, to develop and execute strategies and effective communications to drive the company’s visibility and corporate branding. She was previously, communications manager for Southeast Asia and India at Skyscanner.They join Elliot Renton, who was recently appointed as head of sports. Esquero, Limanto and Tan will report into Louis Boswell (pictured top second from right), senior vice president and general manager, Southeast Asia. Meanwhile, Ang, Phongsobhon and Tharani will report into Charmaine Kwan (pictured bottom second from left), head of products.“I am excited to have this new team in place as we accelerate the redesign of our product suite and step outside of our current category leadership in pay-TV towards omni-channel digital offerings,” Boswell said.“With more investment in top talent, data-driven insights, and vibrant content including sports, we are in a strong position to engage new consumers beyond the linear space with relevant, real-world content,” he added.
