Dave McCaughan takes MD role at McCann

McCann’s regional planning director Dave McCaughan will shift to Hong Kong in January next year to take on the managing director role for McCann Worldgroup Hong Kong.McCaughan, also a director of McCann’s thought leadership unit Truth Central, has spend the past 10 years in Japan, where he was regional director for Truth Central; regional planning director, Johnson & Johnson Vision Care and general manager McCann Erickson.He will retain his role as regional director of McCann’s thought leadership unit Truth Central.He takes on his new role from 1 January next year, where he will work along side McCann Worldgroup CEO Spencer Wong.His appointment follows the recent departure of Vince Viola, who ran McCann’s Cathay Pacific Central team for 12 years.In a statement McCaughan described Hong Kong as a fabulous market.“Our office, led by one of Asia’s greatest creative directors in Spencer Wong, is a hive of activity and opportunity. Ambitious plans have been set for 2014; Spencer and I look forward to seeing these plans come to fruition.”Charles Cadell, McCann’s regional lead, added that Hong Kong was an important hub for the agency network.“Dave's move into a senior management role deepens our management line up helping us to elevate and strengthen our capabilities further for our clients."McCann Worldgroup also recently appointed Brandon Cheung as director, digital strategy and Christopher Howard, digital media strategy for McCann's Cathay Central TeamMcCann Worldgroup Hong Kong counts Coca-Cola, Darlie, L’Oreal, MasterCard and Johnson & Johnson Vision Care as key clients.
