Liam McCance, country manager and partner of Vocanic Thailand and Malaysia is exiting the role after over three years in the company.
McCance (pictured) was responsible for the development of strategic client relationships as well as identifying prospective new markets within the region. He has also helped in the agency establishing offices in Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. At Vocanic, McCance helped develop and execute word of mouth and social media projects for StarHub, Norton, DiGi, AirAsia, Moet Hennessy Diageo and Mercedes-Benz.
Prior to the role, he was regional business development director and social media strategist at Vocanic. McCance has also worked for agencies such as Publicis Groupe, George Patterson Y&R Brisbane & 02 DDB Brisbane, G2 Worldwide handling clients such as Citibank, Proctor & Gamble and British American Tobacco accounts.
According to a statement from Vocanic, McCance chose to leave the company to “undertake entrepreneurial pursuits outside of the social space.”
“Vocanic has made multiple senior hires in the past few months which has given McCance the confidence that the once-independent agency, now a part of Group M, has the right talent and strategic leadership in place to take Vocanic forward,” said the agency in a statement. The agency was first acquired by WPP in late 2013 and now sits under the GroupM family of agencies
“We are sorry to see McCance go but we wish him the very best of luck in his new endeavors,” Vocanic CEO, Ian Mckee told Marketing. Most recently, Vocanic appointed Vivienne Maguire as general manager of Malaysia and Shane Crombie as country head Indonesia for its regional business.
