Corbis Images has launched an Instagram Photo competition to help promote its image library services in Malaysia.Targeted at creative teams working within the advertising and design industry, the five-week-long Corbis Contract photo competition was created as a way of showcasing the depth and accuracy of Corbis’s image search capabilities whilst engaging a rapport with them. The campaign was created by TBWA\Kuala Lumpur.Leading advertising agencies in Kuala Lumpur were sent a packages containing instructions on how to take part in the photo competition using a specially designed Corbis Image frame. Each week a different photo theme (or photo contract) would be revealed on the Corbis Contract Instagram page (#corbiscontract).Budding ‘contract photographers’ would then do their best to interpret the photo criteria in the most creative manner possible. Photos would then be uploaded onto Instagram and open to public voting, with the highest vote getter for each contract winning prizes ranging from cash, movie tickets to Starbucks vouchers.Clara Williams, sales director for Click Photos, the exclusive representative for Corbis in Singapore, Indonesia, India and Malaysia said: “The campaign’s objective was to reach out to our clients – who are mainly creative users – in a fun way, but also to communicate that Corbis provides an amazing breadth and depth in our collection apart from accurate search results.""The contest is a fun and relevant way to engage with our core audience (creative) and on a platform that provides instant feedback within the users and community.”
