Chevrolet uses beatboxing to highlight engines

Commonweath Bangkok, McCann Worldgroup's agency for General Motors in Thailand, has produced a developed a new film for Chevrolet's Spin titled “Beatbox”.This is part of the “Spin Some Fun” integrated campaign running in Indonesia.The film shows how the car turns a family’s ride through the city into an adventure as they beat box to the sound of the automobile.This was done to illustrate the tagline: “Small engine, big fun,” focusing on the Chevrolet's seven-seat sub-compact van’s quiet 1.21 litre engine. All sound effects in the commercial were created by human beat boxing, said the agency.“In a world where technology dominates, it was refreshing to go “old school” and use human voices alone to make all the noises of the car. The cast was fantastic and thanks to the coaching of professional beatboxers, they were able to deliver a solid performance for total amateurs, bringing the message of the commercial very much alive,” Thierry Halbroth, executive creative director of Commonwealth’s Bangkok Hub said.The “Spin Some Fun” campaign is running on TV in Indonesia and supported by a social media campaign that will run till January. The campaign is encouraging audiences to join in with the hashtag #SpinSomeFun.The Chevrolet Spin is the newest model to launch in Southeast Asia and has broken sales records this year, representing over 60% of Indonesia’s total sales, according to the agency.Watch the film here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVsVs52a4LQ&feature=youtu.be
