Coach has once again tapped the star power of celebrity Selena Gomez for its next clothing collection. This followed the success of its Selena Grace handbag and accessories launch last year, which was the brand’s previous collaboration with the songstress.Together with Coach creative director Stuart Vevers, the new collection was designed by Gomez and is slated for launch in the later half of the year. This includes outerwear, ready-to-wear, handbags, small leather goods and accessories. The statement added that the offering looks to reflect Gomez’s personal style and imbue each piece with her “unapologetically confident and powerful feminine spirit”.Marketing has reached out to Coach for details on the partnership."I always look forward to designing with Gomez because she has a strong point of view. We wanted to bring cool new ideas to the table and I loved getting her take on clothes as much as accessories this time around,” Vevers said."I am so excited to be working with Coach again. Getting to create my own collection with Stuart has been such a fun process, and I can't wait for everyone to see what we have been working on over the past several months,” Gomez added.Last year, Coach changed the name its parent company to Tapestry, effective 31 October 2017. This came months after the acquisition of Kate Spade & Company to create “modern luxury lifestyle brands, defined by authentic, distinctive products and fashion innovation”. The company had then said that the acquisition of Kate Spade was an important step in Coach’s evolution as a customer-focused, multi-brand organisation.According to recent data from Socialbakers, Gomez is the most followed person on Instagram with 134.7 million followers, a quick check by Marketing found. She has also worked with Unilever’s Cornetto for her 2016 Revival Tour.
