CNBC makes senior promotions

CNBC has announced several appointments to its international team across different functions including advertising sales, business development and distribution.  The appointments are effective immediately.Junji Sumitani has been promoted to the new position of vice president of international business development. Sumitani has led the CNBC sales organisation in Asia Pacific for the past three years and will now identify and develop new business opportunities across CNBC in Asia Pacific and EMEA.  He is based in Singapore and reports to CNBC International president and managing director, KC Sullivan.Jacqueline Lam has been promoted to the new position of vice president of international distribution.  Lam will manage all of CNBC’s existing distribution and affiliate relationships and grow the network’s reach by securing new opportunities with cable, satellite and broadband partners.  She previously led the distribution and marketing for CNBC in Asia Pacific and is based in Singapore, also reporting to KC Sullivan.“These changes align all parts of our business to work across our international network,” said Sullivan. “An international structure enables us to operate more effectively for the benefit of our viewers, partners and commercial clients and positions us well for long-term growth.”CNBC also announced two promotions within its international sales team.Kerry Tarrant has promoted to vice president, sales, Asia Pacific.  Tarrant will lead CNBC’s commercial activities across Asia Pacific, including the network’s sales, research, creative solutions and ad operations.  Tarrant was previously region director of advertising sales and has also worked for CNBC in EMEA.  Tarrant will be based in Singapore and reports directly to CNBC International senior vice president, Sales,  Jason Webby.Justin Davison is promoted to vice president, sales, UK and Western Europe.  He will now lead sales activities across Western Europe, creating 360 degree solutions that take advantage of CNBC’s broadcast, digital, mobile, event and social media platforms.  Davison previously led CNBC’s sales in the UK, Republic of Ireland, Germany & Scandinavia.  He will be based in London and will also report to Webby.“Both Kerry and Justin are seasoned members of our commercial team and well placed to lead our sales activities in each region,” said Webby.  “My congratulations to both and I’m confident we have the right structure in place to create and deliver multi-platform solutions for clients that leverage the power of CNBC across all of its assets.”
