Shalu Wasu has stepped down from his position as managing director at Circus Social, which was founded in November 2012.
During his tenure, he grew and built the company’s team, products and solutions from its initial conceptualisation to execution. Moreover, he was also involved in building the social intelligence platform, Circus 20/twenty that marketers can use themselves. He led the company by engaging with investors like WPP, SPH, IDA, data partners like GNIP, Datasift, Twitter, Facebook and Dow Jones.
Prior to this, he was the director at Social@Ogilvy where he started, led and grew Ogilvy’s social consulting practice. He has worked across various divisions, practises and regions in a matrix organisation. His main responsibilities included growing the practice, business development, including accounts management, delivery, training and thought leadership. Moreover, he has also worked for companies like Side project, Life ahoy, Polaroid and NIIT in the past.
Speaking about his future plans, Wasu said, “I am currently meeting up with leaders and interesting people in the industry – ranging from startups, agency folks, consulting companies and traditional marketers to try and make up my mind and decide on what is next. I believe that my next adventure will be in the space where artificial intelligence and big data meet marketing. I have yet to decide if it will be an in-house role or a brand new venture.”
