Carlsberg celebrates one year anniversary of new beer

From now until 30 June 2017, Carlsberg Malaysia is celebrating the one-year anniversary of its new beer, Carlsberg Smooth Draught. As part of its marketing initiatives, it is launching a nationwide promotion on beer for consumers.

Carlsberg Smooth Draught, dubbed by the company as “Probably the Smoothest Beer in the World”, was launched in 580ml bottles throughout Malaysia last year. This was done after consumers’ insights gathered by the company uncovered that beer drinkers wished for the smooth sensation of draught beer, which was not readily available then.

Charles Wong, marketing director of Carlsberg Malaysia, said the product registered positive growth momentum after over 160,000 consumers sampled the brew via massive sampling activations. The company has since built on the positive momentum by releasing 500ml cans and 320ml cans of Carlsberg Smooth Draught, making it more affordable and readily available for consumers.

Wong recently came on board following his stint as GM of Red Bull Malaysia. He replaced long-time marketing director of Carlsberg, Juliet Yap.
